We are more than happy to sell you stock images from our library for reasonable fees. The cost varies depending on end use. It will be a number of months before our library is completely online but you are welcome to contact us regarding specific ships, we may just have it in stock. All images are supplied on CD or DVD in .tif format at 300dpi or better resolution.

     You may also hire us for customized research at the US National Archives or US Naval Historical Center in and around Washington, D.C. Our hourly rates vary by type of research; we can supply hardcopy of certain document types and do so at the hourly rate plus actual cost for copying and mailing. We will always attempt to provide an accurate estimate of research time required but you should be aware that poorly defined or very large projects can grossly exceed estimates. In cases where estimates provided fall more than 10% short of actual time spent you will be notified ASAP and given an opportunity to alter the contract. In no case will you ever be billed for more time than actually spent researching, even if the actual time spent is less than half the original estimate (sometimes the documents you're looking for simply do not exist or are in too poor a condition to copy). In all cases once research begins the minimum initial billing will be for one hour regardless of results, billing for complete projects will be billed at the nearest quarter hour increment. We will require reasonable deposits before beginning research work for new customers and for large projects. Very large projects may be billed incrementally as work progresses.

     We accept payment in US funds via Paypal, US Postal Money Order, Western Union and business checks. Payment must be received before we ship your product. Checks must clear before shipping as well. Under no circumstances will we accept foreign money orders or checks, the fees to process them are astronomical, foreign customers must use Paypal or Western Union.

     Given the nature of archival documents we cannot guarantee the quality or availability of them. We do make every effort to obtain good copies of textual documents and plans but we cannot control the quality of the originals. We scan photos ourselves at a standard of 300dpi or better with a long axis of at least 3000 pixels, the dpi may be higher at our discretion for each scan (there is no extra charge if in our opinion we need to scan a specific image at higher resolution). Custom scans ordered at higher resolution will be billed at a higher rate. We will never attempt to access or copy currently classified documents, if you contract for research and we find the documents are classified we will bill you for one hour and notify you that the documents are classified. Please think ahead, anything ever related to "nuke" or "special purpose", especially submarines tends to be classified, if in doubt ask us or NARA through our links page.

     Please remember, we do not perform research for individual military service records, we recommend visiting NARA's website from our links page and contacting a geneological researcher for those.
